Shibaura Machine partner, TM Robotics, will be exhibiting at Automation Technology (ATX) West — America’s largest annual design and manufacturing event. TM Robotics will be exhibiting alongside Futura Automation, the company’s sales agent for the West Coast. ATX West will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California from February 6 to 8, 2018. TM Robotics will be exhibiting alongside Futura Automation at booth 4489.
ATX West connects over 20,000 engineers and executives from the manufacturing and engineering sectors. Visitors are encouraged to register for an ATX expo pass to confirm their attendance for the free event. At the show, TM Robotics will introduce the North American market to the THE400, the latest Shibaura Machine SCARA robot.
The new model SCARA lends itself to assembly and inspection processes for electronic and automotive manufacturing. As a low-cost, but high-performance model, the THE400 has been developed to set the standard for the next generation of SCARA robots. The machine was initially launched to the Japanese market, at the International Robotics Exhibition (IREX) in Tokyo, Japan in November 2017.
At ATX West, the robot will be exhibited alongside feeding equipment from North American automation manufacturer, Flexomation. TM Robotics will demonstrate the capabilities of this machine working alongside conveying equipment and a vision system to take images of the parts coming down the moving conveyor. The system will then send the co-ordinate data to the robot controller, demonstrating how the robot can pick up the parts by synchronizing with the conveyor.
Shibaura Machine’s TVL500 robot will also be on display at the show. The TVL range, part of the company’s 6-axis selection, is a low energy, light weight robot series. This will be mounted onto a Macron Dynamics slider, another partner of Futura Automation. The slider is designed to move the robot from work station to work station and its ease-of-use will be demonstrated at the show.
“The US is already a great supporter of industrial robots. In fact, the country is ahead of Japan for its number of robots per employee in the automotive sector, with 1,261 robots per 10,000 employees,” explained Nigel Smith, CEO and president of TM Robotics. “As Shibaura Machine’s representatives for the North American market, ATX West provides the opportunity to showcase Shibaura’s latest innovations from Japan on US turf.”
Ryan Gutherie, executive vice president of TM Robotics, and Doug Dalgliesh, business development manager at TM Robotics, will both be present at booth, number 4489.
